Reminder/upcoming events

Two reminders, and then some things for your calendar:
* If you are collecting checks for Popcorn sales, have them made out to "Pack 196". There will be another email coming out about Popcorn sales in the next few days.
* Our next Pack meeting is 10/28 - we're going to have our costume contest and games. We're asking every family to bring a bag of pre-wrapped candy for our "goodie bags" - mini candy bars should be fine.
Upcoming events/things to note:
* Hauntoree - 10/21 - if you're attending, I'll be sending out an email later tonight/tomorrow with some details.
* Popcorn sales orders are due by 10/21
* Veteran's Day Parade - 11/6. We don't have any details, but we think it will be a 12:00 gather, 1:00 march. More details as soon as we have them.
* We'll be participating in the Food Drive on November 12, and we'll be manning our booth at Adam's Supermarket in the Adam's Plaza. We'll be asking everyone to sign up for a shift, so please let us know if you're interested as soon as possible. We're working out how many scouts per shift, and will let you know when that info is available.
One last note - I've created a new email address for myself to make it easier to find the Pack email in amongst all the spam and other stuff I get. Please update your address books. As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to call or email me.
Pack Meeting - 9/23 at 7:00

Just a reminder that we're having our Pack Meeting at Live Oaks in the Multi-purpose room - our first Pack Meeting of the year! We'll be having the Beardsley Zoomobile again this year, and we hope you all enjoy our guests tonight!
If you're a member of the Pack and haven't signed up for a slot during our Show and Sell on Saturday (9/24), you can either sign up online or pick a time during the Pack meeting.

Show and Sell

We're doing our Popcorn Show and Sell today at the Shoprite in Milford, CT (155 Cherry Street, Milford, CT 06460). The boys will be "showing and selling" from 9:00 to 5:00 - stop on by!
Welcome back, 2011

We're gearing up for a brand new year - I hope everyone's ready!

Here's what we have coming up:
Sept. 10 - Gardens at Live Oaks - because of the 9/11 Memorial outside the school, we've been invited to come help clean things up a bit before the 9/11 Memorial Service. Cleanup starts at 8:00, make sure you wear clothes you won't mind getting dirty, some gloves and maybe a rake. "Class B" shirt is recommended.
Sept. 16 - Cub Scout Round up, Live Oaks black top (in back of the school) - if you know anyone interested in Cub Scouts, suggest they come this night! We'll be answering questions and trying to get some new members for the Pack.
Sept 17 - Popcorn Show and Sell, Shoprite, Shoprite Plaza - come help us get started on Popcorn sales! You can sell to your family and friends, either in person (forms will be available at the first Pack meeting) or online. If you haven't already signed up for online sales, it's a great option for family/friends that aren't local - orders placed online are shipped right to the purchaser, so they get their popcorn without any delay. We'll need 2 kids per hour, so please let us know when you can volunteer. We won't have any of the new Tigers for this, so please try to help out if you can!
Sept 23 - Pack Meeting, Live Oaks Multi-purpose room - our first Pack Meeting of the year! We'll be having the Beardsley Zoomobile again this year, and we hope you all enjoy our guests tonight!
Sept 24 - Popcorn Show and Sell, Stop & Shop Plaza - one more chance to help us sell some popcorn! We'll need 4 kids per hour, so please let us know when you can volunteer.

I realize that two weekends in a row may seem like a little much, but we've been able to utilize the money we get from fund-raising to "re-invest" right back into the Pack, which includes having the Zoomobile at the Pack meeting, supplying the scouts with their Scout books, Regatta boats, Derby cars and much more.
On top of all this, we've got other great stuff planned for the year. See you soon!
